MEETINGS

DRESS CODE:
Collared shirt or sport jacket required.

DECORUM: You must have safe transportation for each meeting. Additionally, be aware that everything in the bar is custom-made, please be respectful.

TASTING MEETINGS: The attendance fee for each Tasting Meeting is set by the Primary Gentleman. That fee reimburses the PG for the whiskies to be tasted that night. The Reserves may also be freely sampled from. After a Tasting Meeting, all unfinished new whiskies go into The Reserves.

RESERVES MEETINGS: Rare and random, for Members only. There is no fee, theme, or dress code, and the Reserves may be sampled from freely.

PRIMARY GENTLEMAN:
For each meeting, the PG designates a budget and designs the meeting using that budget. Any member may serve as PG; the position is voluntary and rotating.

TASTING NOTES:
 At member discretion.

MEETING RESERVATIONS: When not enough seats are available for all those requesting attendance, priority is given in the following way: 1) Founding and Veteran Members, 2) Members, 3) Alternates. Within those categories, preference is on a first-RSVP-first-served basis. Reasonable cutoff dates prevent those with higher status from stalling an undue amount of time to commit to attendance.

Important: once you have reserved a seat for a meeting, you are monetarily responsible for that seat if you “bail,” unless that seat can be filled. In addition, bailers may lose priority seating for the next meeting.

In the case of bailing on a free Tasting Meeting, you will be ineligible for the next 2 meetings.

RESERVES:
Whisky in the Society Reserves is fully available any time there are 6 or more Members present. Generally, if there are 3 or more members present, small and limited samples of the reserves may be made with good discretion.

MEMBERSHIP AND ALTERNATES

BECOMING A MEMBER: (Revised 10/11): A minimum of 4 meetings must be attended before consideration begins. Alternates become full members at the discretion of existing members, with final permission from the Steering Committee. To complete membership, new members must donate a bottle of whisky to the Reserves (min. value $100).  Full access to the website Members’ Area is then granted.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Come to meetings. Drink whisky.

WEBSITE PARTICIPATION: Not required. All Members are encouraged to submit content.
