MEETINGS

DRESS CODE:
Collared shirt or sport jacket required.

DECORUM: You must have safe transportation for each meeting. Responsible behavior is expected within reason. New bottles are opened beginning 12 minutes after the meeting's start time. Late arrivals may recieve censure.

ATTENDANCE FEE: This reimburses bottle contributors for new whiskies to be opened. Per LAWS tradition, the fee reimburses actual costs paid for bottles, not the actual values. LAWS members do not profit off each other.

TASTING MEETINGS: The lineup for each Tasting Meeting is set by the Primary Gentleman. After a Tasting Meeting, all unfinished new whiskies go into The Reserves, unless otherwise stated.

RESERVES MEETINGS: Members only (no alternates). There is no fee, theme, or dress code, and the Reserves may be sampled from freely.

PRIMARY GENTLEMAN:
For each meeting, the PG designates a budget and designs the meeting within that budget. Any member may serve as PG; the position is voluntary and rotating.

MEETING RESERVATIONS: When not enough seats are available for all those requesting attendance, priority is given in the following way: 1) Founding and Veteran Members, 2) Members, 3) Alternates. Within those categories, preference is on a first-RSVP-first-served basis. Reasonable cutoff dates prevent those with higher status from stalling an undue amount of time to commit to attendance.

RESERVES:
Whisky in the Society Reserves is fully available any time there are 6 or more Members present. Generally, if there are 3 or more members present, small and limited samples of the reserves may be made with good discretion. Take-home samples are only allowed in the event that a paid bailer misses a meeting, in which case 1/2 oz from each bottle is set aside for them.

MEMBERSHIP AND ALTERNATES

BECOMING A MEMBER: Alternates become full members at the discretion of existing members, with final permission from the Steering Committee. This usually requires having attended 4 or more meetings. To complete membership, new members must donate a bottle of whisky to the Reserves.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Come to meetings. Drink whisky.

TASTING NOTES: At member discretion.

WEBSITE PARTICIPATION: Not required. All Members are encouraged to submit content.
