You know, sometimes I feel like I really should be saying a lot more when I describe a whisky the way I'm going to describe this one: Fruity and sweet, with equal parts smoke. And that's about as complex as it gets to me, yet I really like it. It's got a great mouthfeel and drinks easily, while still packing enough sweet, peaty, tasty stuff to not be wimpy. Very enjoyable. B/B+
Nice solid peatiness (according to the distributor/rep this is 35 PPM - rather heavy) with some bacon grease that is a bit more tame than I prefer and a bit of bubblegum in the background.
This has a really nice nose with lots of fuel like peat and a sort of solvent note, though not in a bad way. The palate follows up nicely with plenty of peat followed by a light sweetness. The peat is pretty steady and leads into a really spectacular finish which seems to go on forever. This one is quite good.
