Member Ratings and Notes
The nose is fruity with white wine notes as well as some hay and horse feed notes in the background. The palate has the same fruity/malty mix, starting sweet with pears and canned peaches, then malty notes can Cream of Wheat. The finish is just vaguely fruity. This is a nicely drinkable malt.

n: deep vanilla oak nose, raw nutmeg and freshly sanded wood paneling. Heavy furniture wax, fresh cardboard, and clothesline dried linens.

t: dense and delicious. Dark vanilla bean (extra torched creme brulee). Nice char and creaminess from the cask influence. Full, oily mouthfeel (very thick and dense). Reminds me of bananas foster. Well-rounded and cohesive with rich flavour (pears and green grapes). Delicious balance of vanilla and creamy spice.

reviewed Cask #B080616146, 55.6%

I had a 55.6% ABV version that I didn't like as much. It was more rough edges and hot and was a B-/B.

Yellow-orange amber color. Nose is very fresh, with caramel and loads of vanilla (kind of like vanilla candy). Nose really smells like a rick house. The palate is not as pleasant. My tasting was bitter, which overshadowed some of the bourbon notes; spicy vanilla really came through though. Good draw. Looking at some of the other notes, I am guessing bottlings vary significantly with the Solist line. Cask #B080616146, 55.6%, bottled 2011.12.02. [1/5/14]

N: Dry hay, grass, sweet caramelized peanuts, sawdust and cinnamon

P: Astringent.  Nutty and sweet (almond cookie)

Nose: Floral, caramel, Irish Whiskey, sweet pastry, vanilla

Taste: Bit woody, sugared Bushmills, lemon / citrus, brulee pastry, malt (with water)

n:  Pink jellybean and cheap bourbon

p:  Bubblegum and rubbing alcohol

Cask: B091030052A, 54%
