"Sweet and savoury"
Distilled October 2001 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel 239 Bottles
Nose of subtle smoke, light honey and fruity strawberries, pinot grigio. Palate is nice enough, pretty fruity altogether though not hugely so, smoke restrained.
Peated and fine, but uninteresting and not great Ardbeg. Damn it! C+/B-
P: Very pleasant on the palate. It is sweet and savory and the peat level is low but crisp and clean. The brine comes out toward the mid palate and mixes with citrus and caramel.
F: Lingering finish with ash and dark tea.
n: simple peat
p: dull peat. earthy and somehow stale, Mostly sucky.
