Yes! What a nose. Cotton candy, sherry, light peat, some sulfur, then the ocean.
Palate is outstanding and delivers on the nose. Very long finish. It makes me think that it's reminiscent of the 1981 20 year-old -- until I try that one next to this. Okay, this isn't quite that one, but it's still an easy A-.
N: crushed pecans, eucalyptus, raisins and bitter chocolate
P: black cherries, prunes, chocolate cake and peaty smoke
F: lemon tea and spice
This is the first edition of the Talisker 25 and I've heard great things about it. It defnitely lived up to expectation but I agree with adam that the 2001 20 year olds (both US and UK) are just a bit better.
