Member Ratings and Notes
Nose:  Very nice, oak, caramel, textbook old bourbon.
Palate:  Citrus, acidic, followed by wood and sweet notes.
Finish:  A bit sour

A nice nose but the palate doesn't live up to the richness of the nose.

n: Vanilla + caramel

p: Dirty rubber band with a bland finish

A mild bourbon with oak and toasted oats.  Sweet molasses with a toastsy finish that is a bit salty.  A nice mellow bourbon that I could drink anytime.

N: Deep n' fruity for a bourbon with some notes of citrus and wax.
P: Lots of sweetness balanced with lots of wood.  Very chewy and resinous.

F: Tannic wood.  Dry.

N: Light spice, cinnamon, light vanilla. Coconut. Mild wood.

P: Light, bitter, woody. Fruit - apple skin. Light cinnamon, turbinado sugar, dust, concrete (??? this is in my notes but I don't recall tasting concrete at any point)

F: Short, fruit skin notes continue. Slightly bitter wood.

Unusual. Not bad at all but a bit bitter to my palate. Definitely worth a try though.

I absolutely love this bourbon. Lots of caramel and sugar. Absolutely divine in my mind; a little surprised this one wasn't well received. [3/20/12]

It's a nice drinker and I'd happily quaff some any day. It's just overoaked, though not terribly so.

Back when this hit shelves, cask #5 was considering among LAWS to be a disappointment and a "don't buy." As I taste it now (April 2015), I keep thinking that if this were a new release, it would be celebrated on certain blogs and sold out within a week. Make of that what you will, but I say: strange days have found us.
