Quite woody on the nose.  Initially oily with a corn profile, finishes with a wheaty spice, a bit like Old Fitzgerald.  A bit of soapiness detracts but I suspect that is due to the age of the bottle (I was told 1965) and not indicative of the original whisky.  I've left that out of my rating.    Good but not great.
