The nose has buttersctoch, oak and rye spice. The palate opens with spice and honey, which grows into an almost cloying candy-like sweetness which dominates the rest of the palate. The finish sees the return of some spice and herbal notes.
This had some complexity in the beginning but it was drowned out by the sweetness. It's very drinkable, but overly sweet.
n: dry wood dust, brown butter, caramel, and leather.
t: oaky and chalky with a spicy, mineral body. Vanilla char, cinnamon toothpick, with heavy dried floral middle (imagine letting a multi-vitamin dissolve on your tongue). Dry, bitter, and tannic finish - mouth parching. [B/B-]
