Nose is peachy and full of bright, happy fruits (midwestern and tropical citrus mix), bubblegummy. The palate delivers on all those fruits in the nose, with the volume turned down some, and is great. Mild-to-medium sweet and buttery. Finish continues the theme and becomes a bit dry. This is tasty, fruity stuff, unobjectionable yet not uninteresting. One of those whiskies that's everywhere that deserves to be everywhere. B/B+
N: Coconut and chocolate, a little fruit, like a combination of a Mounds bar with a Tootsie Pop. Great nose. P: Quite oily, buttery, fruity, and sweet. F: Continues in the same fashion, very drinkable, finishes clean. Tasted blind, this was a surprise on reveal, yet another reason to go back to those malts I may have passed over and give them retry.
All of the classic solid scotch goodness of the 10 year but with more fruits and more wood resin. One of those bottle that I would always buy over the 10 year except that it is way too over-priced. BTW: I did not factor price into my rating.
n: pleasing; soft caramel, doughy malt, hint of orange wax and cocoa butter. Almonds in dark honeycomb, cocoa powder, and cigar wrapper.
t: crisp, yellow apple on a golden graham cookie. Middle is white peach and hint of dusty evergreen. Buttery toffee. Finish is great; dry oak, mixed nuts, and yellow fruit (sherry shows). Gentle and pleasant to sip, but overall just "nice".
