Member Ratings and Notes
Perhaps it's unfair to taste this sandwiched between two glasses of Highland Park 18, but it really just doesn't compare. There were defintely some good things in there, but also a couple odd notes (vinegar?) that I couldn't quite identify.
Nose is light honey comb cereal. The palate is butter and vanilla with a little mint. The finish is clean and short. Good light aperitif.
Moderately briny, malty, with notes of hay and grain and a faint bit of peat; faintly floral.
Rich, syrupy, oily mouthfeel; gently warming and malt, green grass, lightly dusty with a hint of white pepper.
Slow, gentle, lingering with the whiff of (really faint) peat and malt coming back; some grain.
Not a big whisky - mild, gentle, malty, and relaxing. It's enjoyable for what it is but it doesn't leave a lasting impression.
