Nose of caramel, and rather farty -- fartiness does not always designate a bad thing... some farts are great! And that's the case with Bunna 18. The medium-bodied and smooth palate is caramel, caramel, caramel. Yum! B/B+
n: fig newtons, caramel covered green apple, and ocean air. Nice chocolate and dark cherries with a faint note of burnt paper smoke. Very inviting red fruit nose and iced gingerbread man cookie.
t: Dried dark red fruits and a bit of balsamic; salted figs and vanilla wafers in the middle. Hint of toffee and dark chocolate in finish. Stays rich and malty but doesn't get candy sweet. The Islay smoke and salt balances the sherry cask nicely. The smoke starts to show more assertively in the finish.
Tastes like a Speyside with smoke and sea air influence; an interesting and savoury whisky.
