Teeling Carcavelos Barrel Aged Single Cask Irish Whiskey

The whiskey was first aged for twelve years in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-White Port barrels from the Carcavelos region of Portugal, which is famous for producing beautifully light and fragrant, fruity flavors.
n: golden straw, peach, hint of spearmint gum. Dry earth, hard honey candy, and clean linens.
t: floral (dry white rose petal), chewy malt, and dried grapefruit. Still gentle overall (almost subtle), but with a dense flavor throughout. Complexity shows in the rich finish and the ABV% really makes this a good one. If you're not an Irish whiskey fan, this might change your mind. Blind, it would be difficult for me to ID this as Irish Whiskey. [B, almost B+]
