This whisky, created by Suntory Chief Master Blender, is an blend of several single malts distilled and aged in Yamazaki, the very first malt distillery of Japan. It is comprised of some single malts aged for over 20 years in Sherry Casks, and some relatively younger single malts aged in Bourbon Barrels.
n: malty with oak + dried black cherries. Burnt vanilla bean and toffee. Hint of black peppercorns. Earthy (damp forest).
t: malty with an "damp earth" quality. The wood cask really shows well here with dried black cherry, mushroom, and musty oak to enhance the forest flavour aspects. Has some green yuzu (sour) in finish. This is a warming sipper that is really full bodied and delicious. [B+/A-]
