The nose has sherry, a touch of cardboard and maybe a whiff of peat. The palate has chocolate syrup, the intense fruit notes - stewed raisins and honey, followed by some funky, earthy stuff. The finish is dark chocolate followed by prunes.

Fuji

Cigar smoke, fresh roasted coffee bean, leather, mahogany and charred dark chocolate.  Bitter raw cocoa, prune and espresso.  Dries out mid palate leaving a mouth coating finish.

Damn good rich, dank, sherried malt.
Dave

Deep dark punes and chocolate liquor. Wonderful, delicious and dark maltiness that was also quite drinkable.

NOSE
Dank, chewy, and funky sherry slides out of the glass followed by dried dark fruit, dark chocolate, a touch of earth, a complex bit of spice and a light floral character. A heavy sherried malt that screams excellence.

PALATE
Same dense sherry as before layered with notes of dried fruit, honey, toasted malt, vermouth, ash, toffee and a touch floral.

FINISH
Long doesn’t even begin to cover it. Sherry, cocoa, wood and Raisinettes.

Love everything about this whisky.

Like the Bowmore BiCen I tried the same night, this is a total drinker. I could literally sip on this for 24 hours straight. Dark plum color. Nose is a solid sherry wonder. Decadent and rich on the tongue, with chocolate, sherry and a prickly finish. Loved it. [12/11/15]
