n: initial is peat, burnt butter, and a nice pine tar. TigerBalm, phenols from old 1960s plastic, and BBQ meat. Some peppermint candy and waxy evergreen furniture polish.

t: wet earth peat smoke that moves to the Ardbeg style BBQ meat-char and and a soft chipotle spice. Smoke completely takes over the middle with more of the peppered medicinal notes. Finish is more of the peat smoke and seabrine.

* Semi-blind tasting with the 2 Supernovas, a Corry, and an Uigie thrown in. I just barely preferred the 2014 vs the 2010 nose. Head-to-head the 2014 release is more rounded, cohesive, and less peppery in flavour while the 2010 Supernova has sharper peaks and valleys and more bite to the smoke. 2014 is very similar but improved by a fraction.   [B+]

Matchsticks, BBQ cinnamon and maritime notes. Reminds me of being on a fishing boat.

Spicy sharp peat with malt and warm butter.  Smoke and earth.

Toasted bread drizzled with olive oil on the finish.  The finish lingers a bit and disappears.

n:  Briney and sweet.  Good but tame compared to the palate.

p:  Quite a whollop like all Supernova releases.  Potpourri, butterscotch, and ash.  Hint of sulpher, especially toward the end.
