Nose of pancake syrup (the artificial yummy kind).  Again there's syrup on the palate in both taste and texture.  The heat here needs taming, and it takes water well, although the fire's never really extinguished well.  Nevertheless, this is a good one.  B+/A-

Retaste: (Note that this was from the same bottle, 4 months later): Wow.  Not much of a nose, but the palate is a blast of deep, rich spice and potpourri.  Beefy and steaky -- like hints of a seasoned steak.  If the heat could be more tamed (water detracts on this one), we'd be in "A" territory.  B/B+
