Yummy

(few notes due to too many bottles tasted beforehand)

B+/A-

Ries

n: heavy on dried pears, golden raisins with brown sugar, matchstick wood, mineral, and aluminum. Dried apple rings from a paper bag.

t: bright floral malt and a warm metallic tone that makes this interesting. Turns creamy caramel in the middle. Fades to dark clover honey and more of the floral notes show again in the finish. The flavour is delicate and dry but still hearty, though not very complex. The distillery character shows well with this; not much oak influence.

B/B+

Fuji

Young red cherries, red fruit licorice, salted walnuts, and white tea.  This is very drinkable stuff.  Trailmix on the palate, nothing offensive here.
Sku

Nose: honey, spice, perfume.

Palate: Sherry, honey, semi-sweet chocolate

Finish: Sherry notes and a bit bitter.

Nicely put together.

Light on the notes as I really enjoyed this one. Light plum color. Nose was fruity and refreshing. Brooding mix of spices and sherried notes on the the palate, with a little sugar added in. Very balanced and drinkable. [7/25/14]
