Blind:

N: Waxy resinous sherry notes with wood shavings and sweet  strawberry pound cake

P: Red waxy licorice, dark stewed fruits

F: Theres a bitterness here that works with the sweet sherry.  Makes me think of the waxy bitterness of red apple skins

There is a bit of funk on the sherry. B/B+

Retaste 4 months later:

This really opened up nicely with time.  The sweeter notes are now more in line with berry flavored cough drops and cough syrups.  More of the sweet jammy notes emerge and the nose  is very nice.  The fruits are much livlier this time around.  Lots of young cherries and apples come through leading way to the sherry.  There is still some funk to the sherry which is kind of yeasty, but its toned down a bit.  I'm hoping another 8 months will fix that.  I'll report back then. But I think this is one that will do really well with some time and air. B+
