Nose is huge musty charcoal, really cool and great and yummy-smelling. Dusty books, Bit o' Honey, oustanding and intriguing.

Palate is intense and weird... too fiery, actually. Tastes alcohol-y and young, too much so for me to really be able to kick back and enjoy this. Finish gets tarry and a little minty, but it's just too much for me.

I hope they let the rest of this distillate/vintage stay in cask a whole lot longer, because it seems that there's magic in here to be worked. Right now it's rough. But a B- because I'd tell you to taste some.

Damp earth and peat.  Melted butterscotch candy, olive oil, lemon, and stale white wine.  Ocean salt in the air.

Dark and bitter.  Smoke, clove, anise and citrus peel.  Bitterness from charred toast.  Ashy peaty notes linger for some time.
