A sharper nose than its predecessor (note increased ABV), very malty and very much smelling like an improved version of the old 10 year. Much of the fartyness has been eliminated. Cashews are back for sure.

Palate is bigger and makes more of a statement, though still restrained, slightly sweeter with more depth, and altogether better. If this was your thing before, you're really gonna like it now I'd think.

It's an improvement but still not out of the C's, average and enjoyable and in no way bad whisky. The sort of thing I'd be happy to find being served on a plane.

n:  Strong but not in a good way.  Bad grappa and new make.

p:  Blendy but with a bite.  It definitely exerts itself, but it's hard to put a flavor on it.  Light almond, maybe.  Mostly "alcohol" really.  Nice mouthfeel though.

Skip it on the flight.  Take a nap instead.

n: green wet grass, citrus (like a Little Tree™ car scent). Cotton balls and candle wax. Mostly just new make & hard to find beyond that.

t: syrupy sweetness from distillate, light oak and some black pepper. A little waxed orange bottle candy juice, heather, and mostly new make again.

"They must age this in really tired casks."
