Member Ratings and Notes
Nose: Interesting, very briny nose.
Palate: Molasses, some of the heavier rums, then rye spice and brine.
Finish: Sweet pickles.
Noticeably sweeter than the more lightly charred Barrel 93.
Grain, with some corn. Somewhat closed off. Slightly buttery, some maple syrup. Oak and faintest vanilla.
Thin but gaining weight, syrupy, somewhat earthy. Somewhat bland. Maple syrup, some hints of black cherry. Slightly buttery. Oak, black tea. Increasingly tannic.
Very quick. Black tea, some oak. Slightly bitter, warm and quite tannic. A slightly vegetal sourness.
The tannins are interesting but it's not enough to hold this together. It's bland on the palate but pleasant enough on the nose.
