Nose - huge spice, lots of rye with vanilla at the end.
Palate:  Sweet and chewy, oak, furniture polish
Finish:  Vanilla

A good rye that hits all the right notes.

N: Nice, slight prickle.  Rye spice, kind of an interesting nose overall and slightly creamy.

P: Smooth on the palate, slightly warm, slightly bitter wood. Apple skin. Dusty.

F: Spice notes continue but it's dry. Gets some vinyl weirdness happening.

I'm forgainst it.

I just don't get a whole lot from this. And that not-muchness is over-oaked, which is the problem here. Too leathery after a few sips.

RETASTE years later: Just way too leathery after a few sips. Would be a B on a very good day. Still a B-.
