I love the nose on this with chocolate, sherry and dried cherries. The palate is sweet with chocolate notes. The finish is sweet sherry fumes. Not a huge amount of complexity but a pleasant sherried malt.
n: vanilla malt cookies, milk chocolate, and maraschino cherries.
t: initial is raspberry balsamic vinegar with young red-berry sweetness and a lot of cocoa powder. There is this weird flat spice to this and more of a jello-style sherry influence in the taste of this (think clear gelatin). This is ok for just drinking a "fruity whisky", but the sherry cask really falls short.
