Nose:  Fruit, sweet, perfumy.
Palate:  Quite hot with some mildew.

Water brigns out fruit on the nose and sweetness on the palate, but it was overall lacking in complexity and integration.

Acrid and fruity nose. Palate is tasty and fruity, but not very "wide" in flavor... but what's here is amplified by the cask strength. Not much to say about this one -- even a retaste revealed no magic -- but it's quite enjoyable nonetheless. Uh, yeah.

N: Starts on white wine, with some light fruit notes (banana) emerging.
P: Big and fruity, citrus and banana. Tangy.
F: Dry with an enjoyable lip numbing heat.
There's nothing too complex about this but I like the profile immensely.   After so many peated and sherried whiskies, one like this hits the spot.

p: Fingernail polish

Fruity bubble gum, toasted malts, black tea and hints of licorice. There's also a bit of ash and faint peatiness. Oily mouthfeel with more of the fruity sweetness along with some eucalyptus and a bit of salt. The finish is a bit rubbery with lots of black licorice.

This was like liquid fruity sweetness.  Maybe overly sweet but I liked it.  Bottle #2456

Retaste Jan 2013:

Candle wax, maraschino cherry , and red vines. Palate has more earthy stuff (herbs and mushrooms) with sweet ripe fruit and some ferric notes. Finish is a bit grassy. B+
