It's Whiskey Season in LA!

This month is WhiskyFest 2008 in San Francisco -- and to our Members going, the rest of us extend extreme jealousy. The good news is that, because of WhiskyFest, Los Angeles ends up with a lot of whisky-related people passing through and a lot of whiskey tastings. At least, comparatively a lot, since there are barely ever whisky tastings in LA! Unless you're in some hifalutin whiskey-tasting group, but we don't know anything about that. Some of us attended the K&L Bruichladdich tasting this past Tuesday, and Andrew Grey put on a great presentation (though we're still waiting to taste a Laddie we love as much as Blacker Still). Ed Kohl, the North American brand rep for Signatory, will be conducting tastings for Vendome (10/21 Ca Del Sol), Duke of Bourbon (10/22 Woodland Hills), and of course, for us! LAWS Members have the details and we'll see you there. Also on the 21st is a paired Glenfiddich dinner at The Palm in West Hollywood. Then on October 25th, Hi-Time is hosting a tasting at the Costa Mesa Holiday Inn, promising over 100 different whisk(e)ys, including lots of indies and unique stuff. And finally, the SMWSA tasting is on November 14th -- that's a Friday this year! Finally. It's also switched venues to Loews Santa Monica. This is the biggest tasting in L.A. and always a good time.
