N: Lightly honeyed sweetness initially, with a slightly light grassiness. A pleasing, gentle maltiness, some hints of hay. A faint dusting of some white pepper and  abit of light peaches. A faintly clay-like earthiness.

P: Lightly oily initially, with an assertive mix of hay and wood; slightly dry and bitter first but it backs down quickly and lets the honey and malt sweetness come to the front. Easygoing, a very gentle spiciness to keep it from getting bland. A little light sherry character gives a hint of darker fruits.

F: Gets cleaner than the body - white pepper, a little hint of mint, more straightforward honey; faintly mineral. moderate length, a little of the sherry character shines through as well.

A lot more nuance and character than I've experienced in other Irish whiskies. Perfectly drinkable at bottle strength; resist any urge to add water because it brings a root vegetable note that overruns it. The dryness on the early palate is a surprise.

Surprisingly, the Yellow Spot nose is much lighter than the Green Spot; it has a grainy, almost bourbon like quality to it. The palate is also very grainy with a very alcoholic type flavor. Tasting blind, I think I would guess that it was a single grain whiskey. The initial grainy note then leads to some bitterness and some soapiness, and a bit of sourness which could be the wine influence. Some floral notes emerge in the finish, followed by bitterness. This one is a bit all over the place. The flavors don't come together well, and there are a number of off notes and clashing flavors. It's as if it can't decide if it wants to be grainy or sweet, so it settled on bitter.
