This has a big fat candy nose with caramel, chocolate and some honey and maple notes.  It smells like a candy bar!  Big corny flavor.  Yes, this is definitely a Beam product, no doubt about that.  Even at a higher strength, it's got that light, sweet, corny flavor.  Oak starts to come out mid-palate and sets in for the finish, though that corn syrup is still there too.  It's a step up from the regular Knob Creek and the extra abv gives it some heft.  Not bad, worth trying.

n: Deep and rich - molasses brown sugar, toffee, candy corn, and a good measure of vanilla and oak.

t: Cinnamon peanut brittle and nice dense mouthfeel. Mixed nuts, nutmeg, and dry vanilla oak char make it delicious. The high ABV doesn't scorch the palatte and this intensity makes it very enjoyable. Hints of cedar and more caramel in the finish.

This is the big brother of the Knob Creek 9yr.; it's a half grade higher, but the tasting notes are similar. The small price bump makes this the one to buy of the brand. At 60% ABV it's fun to drink with ice on a hot July day (like I'm doing right now).
