Nose is an inviting peat smoke onslaught. Palate, wow, damn that's some good smokey stuff. The finish -- did I mention this is hugely smokey whisky? Big surprise, I know. Like last year's Supernova, this one almost requires a toothbrush to end the finish. I liked the debut version more -- particularly because of the tingle of powdered-sugar sweetness it has -- but I do like this for sure. Just make sure you're in the mood!
Same interplay of sweet and smoke as the 2009 version. I don't see much difference other than a bit less oiliness on the mouth. Rates about the same for me.
