The nose is huge and hoppy, though of a quite different character than the hops in Charbay's pilsners. There's almost a dry champagne note to it. The palate is sweet and spicy with more of those wine notes which remind me of a spicy white, like a Gewurztraminer. The hops comes out in finish where it mixes with honey and cinnamon.
n: waxed tropical fruits, full of papaya, mango, and lychee.
t: follows the nose - very clean and bright with more of the lychee and tropical fruit mix. Oily and dense, this is a very unique and special whiskey that doesn't really taste like whiskey. Bonus points for uniqueness!
Has that sweet Racer 5 hopiness at the forefront you'd expect. Also, white grapes. Hop continues in that expected Charbay way (but definitely not as rich as release 1-3). Doesn't have the cannibis elements you get from those other releases. It all smoothly drops off, but too quickly for how much I enjoy that hop flavor. This stuff is so drinkable for me, but not so complex.
