Nose of...Cognac, followed by more typical woody bourbon notes. The Cognac is equally apparent on the front of the palate, followed by coffee, oak and then some light minty flavors. The finish is smoky cask.
There's a lot here but it doesn't all coalesce. Still, it has interesting notes and is a pleasant drink.
N: Spicy multi-grain bread with some notes of freshly cut wood (slightly burnt from the saw). P: Nice sugar up front, plenty of rye spice to back it up. F: Lots of zing, long, vanilla ice cream with caramel.
Pretty solid stuff, I think the Cognac added a nice sweet dimension.
