Not as sweet as the 1995, and with a quality of smoke thats a little more campfire-y, with maybe a little more oak.  Again, this isn't deeply complex whisky, but what's going on here works extremely well.

RETASTE: A couple years later I find I still like this. Fruity, especially in the nose. Short finish, pretty simple, but pretty tasty. A great peated party whisky.

N: Very farmy peat, hay.
P: Delicate sugary peat, something you'd expect from a 20 year old, not a 10.  Ginger cookie, pepper.
F: Big swell of flavor after about 10 seconds, peat fades to oak.

Lightly peaty for a few seconds and transitions in the finish to a candied oak.  Not bad.  Not bad at all.  B+

Retaste:

n:  Sherry and lavendar detergent

p:  Sulpher, bathwater.  Thin tingly finish.

Smells great.  There’s a bigger sherry influence in the 96 compared to the 94 and 95.  You get lots of brown sugar, sugar cane sweetness in it with fresh cut grass, dark fruits, oak and med-long finish with smoke and spice.

Retaste 2015:  Nice candied like sherry aspects.  Mostly concorde grape, campfire smoke and scorched gummy worms.  Peat is present on the palate but it's more peat-smoke.  Bitter black grape skin, ground coffee and black licorice on the finish.  Great easy drinker!
