Nose is sweet, with honey, and notes of something like gunpowder. Palate is quite sweet and tasty. A little alcohol-y. There's not much else, but I like it enough. Finish is long and hot. To note, I was saved by a few bottles of this on my honeymoon, when it turned out to be the only "good" whiskey every bar in the area had. (Special notice to Bora Bora distributors: Seriously? Really?) Nothing to celebrate here, but it's decent stuff. (Barrel No. 5-3071, 4/23/05)

This smells decent but it offered little in taste. I guess the "alcohol fumes" I refer to is what adam would call "alcohol-y."(Bottle No. L-22 Barrel No.7-3178 Date 8-15-07)
N: Corn and a fair amount of grains as well as a fairly strong wood influence. Caramel, toffee and just the faintest hint of maltiness (more like a dry malt powder than sweet beer malt or Scotch maltiness). A touch of vanilla on top.
P: Light mouthfeel, initially somewhat warm, with a bit of an earthy note and some vanilla, some caramel and toffee, and a faint marshmallow note. Heat builds slowly. A little bit of corn and grain. Some moderate but not hugely substantial wood notes. Lightly tannic; definite black tea flavor.
F: Initially builds with a bit of black tea and tannins. Some faint cherry notes, the earthy and marshmallow flavors back early, fading to corn and then drying further to wood. Over time it dries even more and there's a slight root vegetable tang.
I can't lie. This one is pretty good. Has all the balance I miss in #7. However, it's a single barrel so it looks like I just got lucky.
