Oh. My. God. Those are the first words I wrote as I started off an evening with a glass of this. I don't know if it was just because I was jonesing for some Scotch and because it was my first drink of the night (and because this is damn good), but I was very much blown away. Later in the evening, I went back and tried it again -- still absolutely excellent, though the "Oh My God" factor was gone, and it was "just" awesome. Sweet but not too sweet, with sherry, oranges, dried fruits and a rolling background of spice that's reminiscent of the spice you'd find in a rye. The finish is a slow fade into heaven. As far as the experience of that first glass went, it was one of the best I'd ever had. With some re-tasting and retrospection, it's "only" a solid A. Some retailers are selling this for under $200, and at that price I'd say it's definitely worth it.
Nose: syrupy sherry with raisins, figs and orange oil. Lush and fruity. Palate: A sweet syrupy sherry that is interesting enough not to be cloying with notes of smoke and muted rubber. Full of punch but also complex flavors.
