N: Wood polish, with a very faint floral note.  Odd grain.
P: Palate is wildly organic, tobacco, peculiar, unbalanced, but interesting.   Spicy.
F: Rolls in waves, a nice sweetness alternates with less than appealing funky aftertaste.

Nose is rather bourbony, with leather and solvent.  Palate is woody and tannic, nutty -- almonds -- and with coconuts, too.  Kinda bourbony still, but slight.  Very light sweetness, and wasabi notes (I swear).  Finish is quick, except lingering warmth.  Despite the notes above, there's not a lot here to love and it's rather uninteresting.  Water releases some feminine perfume scents and makes this a bit more enjoyable, but you're not missing anything here.  (Upon discovering that this seems to be from the same batch as the other 40+ year North of Scotland I've tasted, I'm bummed!)

Arrggg.   Coconut and nail polish remover.  Heavier on the NPR.  Granted, I don't really like coconut, but still, this is mostly just wrong.  Nice luscious mouthfeel is it's only redeeming quality.

Retaste: Only because I wanted to empty the bottle for better purposes.  Am starting to wonder what feminine perfume Mr. Herz is referring to.
