Malty, vanilla nose, somewhat spiritous/alcoholy.  The palate is yummy, though there's almost too much of that alcohol/spiritous edge -- but the rest is darn tasty.  Malty, with those hints of Whoppers candy that I often find in Irish whiskies.  In a way, this hits me very similarly as Bushmills 16 (which I prefer), but that is more expensive I guess, and older... anyhow, I like this a lot.

N: Toffee, leather.
P: Thick and coating, considerably malty, spicy, rich, and balanced.
F: Light fruity / floral.

Oddly enough I liked this.  Still rather....erm....Irish and has that classic sweet grassy note but the palate has some chocolately/tobacco notes that give this some complexity.  Better than most Irish.

Palate:  sweet, some fruit (pears), some malt.

Finish: Very nice malty finish with some fruit.

Almonds, orange furniture wax, and ginger bread cookies. Middle is more dried apricots; sweet and oily with a hint of vanilla. Light sherry influence.
