N: Coconut and pre-pro mustiness. (This was tasted blind).
P: This tastes quite strange. Like strawberries?
F: Ew. This is weird. Moldy gum. Off.

Unusual nose, the most unusual component of which I can't find words for, of course. Bubblegum, caramel, canteloupe. Tastes dusty. (This was tasted blind, and the note doesn't mean it tasted like dust, it meant it had characteristics found in old vintage whiskeys). Stone fruits -- peaches and nectarines esepecially. Bit O Honey in the finish.

The nose here is stellar, that's an A-. But overall B/B+.
Fuji

Salted pecans, licorice, potpurri, prune juice, cracked black pepper spice.  Finish of bitter leafy greeens.

Great interesting nose but the palate falls flat.

On the nose it has those great sandalwood notes that old ryes have. The palate is syrupy sweet with grape juice notes and then more of than sandalwood from the nose along with spicy rye that's more familiar from current rye whiskeys. The finish is full of spearmint and spice.

A bit too sweet and the sweetness gets in the way of the nice sandalwood and spice notes.

Xray

Cardboard and astringent... though not entirely unpleasant.

Agreed, the nose on this is great. Nice sweetness, and the rye/spices really float out for me.  It's very light on the palate, with the rye and some sort of menthol.  I like the sweetness.  Maybe some figs and other fruits?  Not much of a finish, but I could nose this all day.
