Yum! Resiny and raisiny. Figs. Oak is definitely here but in really great balance to the sherried, dried fruits stuff. Nice coconut in the long finish, which is probably the grain whisky speaking. Being in the category of a blend, it's no doubt one of the best I've ever had.

N: Big rich sherry nose, with hints of wet stones, minerals. Old and rich. Wisp of coconut and coffee.
P: Oh yeah, this really pops with bright, big sherry.
F: Red custard.

That didn't suck.

Resinous waxy sherry stuff with tabacco and leather.  Not overly sweet with the right amount of astringency.  Candied apple, stewed fruit, blackberry, anise, fermented tea, figs, prune, hibiscus tea.  Lingering raspberry espresso finish. A/A-

Nose of motor fuel and sulfur followed by big sherry with fruit, then chocolate leading to a drier sherry finish.  The nose is funky but the overall evolution of this whisky from nose to finish is fantastic.

A wonderful whiskey. Deep rich notes of bakers chocolate and raisins. A proper sherry aged whisky.
