My least favorite of the 2013 BTAC. I tasted this side by side with the 2012 (a Stagg I actually really liked) and this one was lacking in several degrees. The nose was somewhat bland with oak and spice. The palate didn't have the oomph I was expecting, wasn't rich and even seemed a little bitter to me. I'm being overly harsh, but I think this one missed the boat. B/B+ [11/24/2013]
Fuji

Burnt chocolate, dark cherry, eucalyptus smoke and sweet buttered corn.  Old leather and wood. A little less expressive on the palate but it retains the sweet corn syrup foundation. A bit of rye spice emerges mid palate and finishes with mulling spices. Medium mouthfeel initially that dries out.
Ries

n: dark brown sugar, cinnamon roll dough, molasses, and lots of cinnamon red hots. Very dark toasted raisin bread and hint of toffee.

t: very oaky with a lot of char and cinnamon, runs very hot & intense. Toffee on kettle corn. The middle tastes a bit like scalded chocolate pudding and Big Red™ gum. Finish is dry wheat straw, leather, and more of the spicey oak.

Solid bottle at standard retail price; this was my 3rd favourite of the 2013 BTAC release. I liked the Handy Rye & WLW best.
