Nose: Rye spice
Palate: Very nicely balanced sweet notes with spice. Sandalwood rye notes and sugar syrup.

Finish: Surprisingly, the sweetness seems to win over the finish.

Very well balanced. B+/A-

For a bourbon that was distilled almost 100 years ago, this is really quite sprightly and "alive." Sweet and good, cinnamon, clove, allspice, and altogether kind of apple-y. It's really like a bouqet of great spices (but not spicey) in the mouth, with a cider-pear-honey kind of mild sweetness, and a perfect warmth. The kind of thing you'd sit with by a campfire and drink a ton of. Excellent and memorable stuff.

p:  Wintergreen, walnut oil.  Very oily, really, but GREAT.

N: Seems very typical of today's average bourbon. Sweet, fairly bold. Hint of mint.

P: Really tastes like something from down the street. Willett comes to mind. Very drinkable.

F: Lingers for a nice bit. Very nice.

I have terrible notes for this. I just know I gave it a solid B and said, "Sure, why not". Go figure.
