The nose on this one is light and fruity with fruit cocktail notes. The palate is also fruit forward but it devolves a sourness which lasts into the finish which also has a note of stale wine and a touch of bitterness.

N: Fruity and rich; a little light waxy quality; apples, light pears, slight dusting of sugar, gentle malt, faint white pepper.

P: Woody upfront initially, slightly earthy, with some fruit-based sweetness opening up after a minute. Leaning towards a slight dryness. Slight apple skin.

F: Malt comes forward a bit more on the finish, still some slightly dry wood, and plenty of fruit - long again on apples and pears.

The nose is enjoyable but the bitterness mars this. The flavor is richer than the TJ's 10yr Highland and it's nice and robust, but the dry bitterness doesn't quite work for me.

n:  Muted fruit.  Little musty.

p:  Apple, solvent, and mustiness.  This is a mixed bag with good and bad.  Enjoyable with an open mind or forgiving soul.
