Blind

N: Very candied sherry aspects with dark berries and toasted bread.  Tobacco and darker notes emerge as it sits

P: A good balance of sherry sweetness and bitter notes of tea/ coffee and tobacco leaves

Ries

n: cocoa powder, vanilla frosting, and Luxardo cherries. Very dense and syrupy with a measure of clove cigarettes (Djarum Blacks - goth days) and vanilla chai. Fantastic nose really.

t: initial is semi-sweet cherry chocolates with vanilla cream filling and more dark cocoa. The sherry cask oak + fruit, and some bitter cloves shows in the middle. This whisky follows the nose exactly with a soothing dry finish of sherry soaked oak, black peppercorns, and black tea. This is a great whisky, slightly one dimensional, but it does this really well and the ABV makes it a fantastic value. [B+/B]
