Member Ratings and Notes

A young whisky, lots of new make with peat and vanilla on the nose.  Charred bacon and spiced peat on the palate with a tart finish.

I can really see this turning into something very nice with another 10 years or so.  But for now, its just ok.

n: lemon wax, creamy citrus orange, ashtray. Smoke is light (like paper smouldering) and has a lot of vanilla wafers and caramel on the nose.

t: follows the nose with the creamy citrus with a oily-waxyness to it. The green grass and sharper notes of alcohol show in the middle. This has a high ABV so a drop of water help calm the brash notes. There is a good amount of peat smoke here, but it's very heathery and floral (nothing Islay style). This was an interesting first foray into peat for Arran.  [B-/B]
