The nose is very pungent with lots of peat, brine and bbq notes.  There’s also some vanilla oil sweetness as well. There’s a big peat attack on the palate and it’s more salty than I imagined after nosing it.  You definitely feel the abv on this (55.3%) but it isn’t terrible.  There’s just a bit of cinnamon and fudge in this.  The long finish of citrus and peat sticks.

This is definitely something for the peat freaks out there.  Peat on the nose.  Peat on the palate.  Peat on the finish.  So I’d stay away from this if you don’t like peat.  B/B+

Sweet smokey nose with a bit of acetone. Palate is better than advertised, a pleasantly sweet and smokey Ardbeg with no surprises, but it delivers well on what it does. Lighter and fruitier as far as stuff like this goes.  B/B+

Nose:  Iodine, medicinal, coastal, etc., etc.

Palate:  Very sweet opening with plenty of peat.

Finish:  Peat, smoked fish, coal, etc., etc.

Very typically Ardbeg.  Not complicated but good.  Similar to one of the OB ten year olds but at higher strength.

p:  Hot.  Tire rubber and potting soil.  Rotten yarn finish.
