Extra French oak staves were added to the barrel to impact aging.  The SWS decided that this wasn't permissible, and forbid further production in that manner.  A second "legal" edition was later released, identifiable by a larger tree on the label.

n: Spring flowers

p:  Light and a bit water.  Very nice.  Faint peaches rolling over oak.  Wish it was strong.

Lemon pie, black tea and the faintest hints of lavender on the nose. Lemon custard on the palate accompanied by fudge and a sweet yet salty finish. This was a very pleasant surprise. I did have to give it time to open up as my initial impression was that this was dull. B/B+

Somewhat dark amber color. The nose started slow but had peach, cinammon and other spices, maple syrup and chipotle. The palate was very interesting -- rich and light at same time, featuring both moldy wood and fruity oak. Hit a lot of the right notes for me. [11/8/13]

Interesting spice profile - no doubt from the French Oak staves.  Different but not spectacular. B but just barely.
