A very powerful in your face nose with BBQ briquettes, iodine, tar and brine. There is sherry present but it has a weird funk to it. Smells of tarmac or tar that they tried to cover up by spraying sherry scented air freshener (do they have this because I would buy it!). The palate consists of a full on peat attack with some pine. This burned all the way down to my stomach. I drink George T Stagg neat and I don’t even get that! B/B-
Palate is kind of smokey and BBQ-y, then it starts getting hot. Sweetens up in the finish and lasts, quite strong in a young way, and there's the problem for me. Good whisky for sure, but it's just too hot and H20 didn't improve the enjoyment for me.
