Member Ratings and Notes
Nose is phenolic with sugar cane, iodine, and hints of oceanic stuff (sand/salt/seashells). Bubblegum. Enticing. The musty aspect I find in many Ardbegs isn't particularly here. Palate -- yep, that's a tasty whisky. Somewhat more medicinal than an arguably typical Ardbeg, with a savory aspect like burnt steak fat. Mildly sweet. Finish continues the theme at length, with white pepper and ash becoming most prevalent. A tasty peat treat with a sugary undercurrent wrapped in something sorta antiseptic.
N: Lemon, shellfish (clam shells), marshmallow whip topping(?).
P: Golden syrup of peaty joy.
F: The sugars really come out in the finish, really coats the mouth.
Nose:  peat and chimney smoke.  That autumnal smell of someone having a fire in the neighborhood when it starts to cool off.
Palate:  sweet malt and peat with some citrus and fresh apple cider.
Finish:  Peat smoke.

Just a really good Ardbeg, no more and no less.
