Nose is somewhat light -- caramel, peanuts, and honey. Banana is here (this masbhill is known in particular for a characteristic banana flavor), in particular the aspect of bananas that's reproduced in kids' candy.  Buttery pie crust.  Hint of coconut. The palate is initially a solid vanilla-caramel number, of the variety that's not hugely "rich" but still pushes forward with cask-strength vigor. Nice balance. Apricots, buttered popcorn. Water opens this up nicely, revealing walnut and cashew, a tinge of ginger and curry perhaps. There's a medium, contained level of sweetness that keeps this very drinkable, whether neat, diluted, or on the rocks. As a matter of fact, this is excellent on the rocks (I do sometimes enjoy my bourbon that way, yes), and that's where the fruity, pear, and banana effects are particularly pronounced. The finish gets just chewy enough to provide something to ruminate on. Tinge of cocoa in the tails.  This is a bourbon that (more than others) reveals itself the more you drink. It also needs a little time to open up. Get to know this bourbon. Nice pick, K&L!

UPDATE April 2012: Highly, highly recommend bringing some of this to a Springsteen concert.

A very spicy rye flavored bourbon with good sugar and plenty of oak, finishes on mint and floral notes.

Nose:  Light Bourbon notes

Palate:  A very light Bourbon with some oak notes.  Tastes like something in the style of the old ND Old Taylors, which were nice and drinkable if not overly complex.  B/B+
